Concluding Remarks

The Thirty-Nine Steps.

Richard Hannay is a character who appears well described in the course of the story. Is an educated man who worked hard in Africa to return to his homeland with some savings to live well? The character has an outgoing personality and is shown as a brave and intelligent. Education, intelligence and courage are qualities highly valued human being.
The story takes place in Scotland, the birthplace of the author of the novel, John Bucham, too. For example: The Thirty-Nine Steps, refer to 39 steps formed by the rock of a cliff overlooking the sea, where German spies escape in this story. I think that's why the author makes a very good description of the Scottish countryside, which makes us imagine a very pleasant land, inhabited by friendly people.
In the novel can also be noted that the author knows about international affairs. He also knows how to develop the important issues at the highest levels of government.
The story is interesting, it looks real because it was written on the eve of an international war began Germany, against France and England.
I think it's a good story. On several occasions this novel has been filmed.

Think Tank in the Ministry

I almost lost my life in some incidents prior to my arrival in London. I was almost in the hands of the criminals who seek me. Now I think I was very lucky to escape from the house where I asked for shelter. It was a hideout of the spies. Anyway, I went to the lungs and a bruised arm, also some scratches that hurt.
I returned to the house of the roadman, whom I met in those days of adventure. The good man took care of me when I was really sick. I again suffer malaria, this horrible disease that I suffered years ago when I lived in Africa. Were twelve days spent ill.
When I recovered I began the journey to London. I traveled by train to a terminal near the house of Sir Walter Scott. As soon as possible I got to the mansion.
Sir Walter knew of my existence, on this issue that I should try. I spoke little. He knew about it and asked if he had any evidence. I told him about Scudder's notes.
It was the eve of June 15. Sir Walter answered a phone call from the Ministry. They told him that the Prime Minister of Greece had been killed.
He immediately called his office to a meeting of officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of the Navy.
Of course I was not summoned. I waited in the hallways. Suddenly a tall man in a suit of high naval officer saw me and greeted me. This man saw me and recognized me. I looked in his eyes. Then I discovered he was disguised as chief executive of the Navy, but he was one of the spies were chasing me. I told Sir Walter immediately.
I entered the private and secret meeting. That the officers reviewed the book Sccuder notes. At that moment began the action that led to Scotland Yard Police to catch the three spies who that night would travel by sea to Germany to deliver the secret plans of England and France against the German war strategy. However, weeks after the world war began.
Right now I'm pretty sure I did the best job for my country was before the war.

End.

An Adventurous Escape

Lasted more than two weeks I had to live at risk of losing their lives. The battle against spies and police was difficult and exhausting. In this adventure, I met several people who, thankfully, helped me stay alive.
And these days I had to do all sorts of jobs. I was a man who repaired the roads, a thief steal expensive cars and even a spy and an expert on codes and international affairs.
Fortunately, these two intense weeks I was escaping, I was useful to know the beauty of the countryside of Scotland. It is a beautiful place!
On the journey I had an accident in one of the cars stolen. I left the road and the car was on the branches of a tree before falling into a gorge. For my good luck I escaped unhurt, only had a few scratches.
After the accident a generous man gave me help. I said I was a politician who was in elections and that it now attend a political rally.
I climbed into his car and at home and gave me confidence. I told him of the spy story that I was living and also that the policy was chasing me.
The politician believed my story. And he offered me a letter to Sir Walter, a senior official of the Ministry of International Affairs in London. The politician was sure that Sir Walter would believe my story and the unfortunate plan to assassinate Prime Minister of Greece in the major international meeting scheduled for 15 June in London.
So I went back to the adventure, now on my way to London to meet with Sir Walter. In the countryside remained the criminals wanted to kill me and also the police who wanted to take me to jail.

The end of this story is coming…!
